pretty sure the cat filter setup is a 2 micron, Donaldson is a four micron water seperator, it attaches same as the stock filter. Dont know about baldwin micron rating but its also stock style spin on water seperator. Pretty sure delco is 5 micron.

So I can use the CAT Filter with stock set-up?

What is the model number?

Thanks again.

you have to buy the adaptor, its usually available as a kit with filter and adaptor packaged together.

I wouldn't use the Cat filter...knowing Cat the way I do...they had problems on there equipment with not being able to move fuel through the filters..so they had to make a different set up until the redid their injection system. Thats just my opinion on the Cat..I've been told by several people that Wix was one of the better ones...but I guess thats once more is just opinion...

Ah, got ya..I started a thread on here about fuel filters and no one replyed to it. Then this dude ask the same thing and gets ya'll to talk....I also asked how often you should change it. But on another note I donno bout Cat just for the fact that it makes a lot to move the fuel through them...atleast thats what I've been told.

change 10 to 15k basically every other oil change. As far as cat, the filter has a great micron rating but, its not a water separator wich could sway a person either way. There are several fuel filters out there that guys run that are not water seperators, most run them unknowingly and may or may not have an issue.

If someone would change from a water separator filter to a non water separator filter, do you think it could cause problems with the fuel system? Just curious

I ran wix. started having balance rates problems. my tech told me that the wix was not a good filter on the dmax and to use a/c or raccor. something about the water separator in the filter was not up to par.
