Default low boost?

97 7.3 - my lazy butt never hooked up my boost gauge before any upgrades. I hooked up gauges last night seems i am only getting a max of 16 psi. Not sure if this is normal for the stock turbo or not. I cant find any info on line. Reading this forum sounds like someone may know. I have installed a AFE Intake, 3" downpipe to a 4" exhaust, TCS 6 position chip, and a ATS Intercooler. I thought boost should be around 23-25 psi but not sure?

It depends on where you live. If you are at a high altitude its hard to get more boost psi but not too much more. I think the 7.3 in those years only did between 15-18 but not sure. Do a search on the threads for normal boost pressure in 7.3 powerstrokes. Your upgrades allow for the air to move through your truck which is good. There is something out there just keep looking.

being that you have put an intercooler in it. make sure all your boot clamps are tight and not leaking.

Im no powerstroke guy so i cant tell you what your supposed to be running, but there will be someone who can tell you if this is normal or if you have a problem

Your getting that high of EGTS with an IC and just a chip? No injectors? Something is wrong then

Start looking around for leaks, check your up pipes, boots, etc. Oh and putting on an IC will drop your boost levels as well

Make sure the square cut gasket is between the turbo and the intake (pressed in place by the band clamp).

I agree, very high EGT's and your boost pressures will be less with an intercooler. When I put the intercooler on mine I had a friend help. I found after running it for a bit that I had similar things happening. My kind hearted helpful moron of a frind left a rag in one of my tubes. Thankfully, it didn't get to my turbo. I might have killed him. Just a thought.
