Default 03 lb7 engine swap

Ok so I've got a 03 lb7 and want to swap a lbz motor into it. What all do I need. My Allison 1000 5 speed is already built. And don't want to have to change my trans out. What wiring harness will I need and I will be running efilive. Need to know what tunes to use. all in all want a lbz motor paired with a Allison 5 speed and efilive. All advise helps. Thanks.

It may bolt onto the 5 speed but I'm not sure if they used the same bolt pattern on the 6 speeds if they did i don't see any problems doin it

you will need the entire wiring from the lbz including the ficm and the ecm, you will need a new intake for a lbz, it will bolt to your trans just fine, use efi to change the vin in the new ecm to match yours but you will probably run into a security problem in the BCM and that will have to be fixed with a techII

i have to ask tho why do you want the lbz? just because of the injectors and rods or is there something wrong with your lb7?

sell the LBZ engine. get some LLY injectors, heads, valve covers, injectors supply/return lines & harness connectors and put them on the LB7 engine. drive them with the LB7 FCIM and now you have an LBY

this may be easier then trying to get the LBZ to work with the truck

LB7 = Delphi ECM, LBZ = Bosch ECM. i see much more needing to be swapped over to get it to work if you want the LBZ in it

As long as the lbz engine wiring will hook to the lb7 body harness it should work fine. The bcm shouldnt care any more that it has a lbz hooked to it then it will having a lly. He would have to buy everything for an lly from the block up. Or just use the lbz long block and put lly injectors harness and then use the lb7 ficm.

Damn sounds like I should keep lb7. I'm not to electrical inclined. What can i do to bulletproof a lb7? Except head studs and efi?

Bulletproof is a pretty strong word. and can get expensive fast.

the duramax is pretty bulletproof in stock form

let us know what you want to do with it and we can help you get there

IMHO if you want an LBZ badly enough, sell your truck with the LB7 and buy an LBZ.... would be easier for sure

where is 2500hd at i figured he would know if the lbz wiring would plug into the lb7 body harness

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

so i done some digging and it looks like the plugs will fit but you would have to re-pin some of the wires and add a couple. dosnt seem to be that bad of a swap. can even be done to use a 6 speed auto with tap shift if you want.
